Secretary Michael R. Pompeo met today with African Union (AU) Commission Chairperson Moussa Faki Mahamat in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. Secretary Pompeo and Chairperson Faki discussed ongoing efforts to address the security crisis in the Sahel and to support the UN in Libya, as well as the importance of AU leadership to ensure security coordination among regional partners in Somalia. The Secretary and the Chairperson also discussed U.S. support for public health in Africa.
